Executive Director

Jackie has led the way pioneering experiential equine assisted mental health and educational services in Northern Michigan. She is uniquely suited to this endeavor with her combined unique personal experience, solid multi-disciplinary experience in counseling and excellent horsemanship skills. Jackie oversees program design, implementation, assessment and provides overall organizational direction.

Farm Management

Farmer Paul oversees all Peace Ranch facility oriented issues and services on the Board of Directors and Facility Committee.

Paul is a Limited Licensed Psychologist, Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor through the American Association of Christian Counselors, EAGALA Certified and is also specially certified to treat sexual addictions.

Paul has served as Director of Forest Lakes Counseling since 1990 which provides professional Christian counseling services for the community in the traditional style.

Nancy Wieland

Paddock Instructor

Nancy is a native of Traverse City and have been involved with horses for almost thirty years as a student, owner, and instructor. Nancy connected with Peace Ranch in 2014 through several Natural Horsemanship classes. In 2016, she conducted a six week driving course for Veterans and in 2017 became the Paddock Instructor for Hug & Groom. Nancy provides classes for developmentally disabled adults and oversees the continued care and well being of the Peace Ranch herd. Nancy is a member of the Northwestern Michigan Draft Horse & Mule Association and owns five horses which she has been driving for over fifteen years.

Melissa Edingfield, EAGALA Certified-ES

Equine Specialist and Natural Horsemanship Instructor

Melissa has worked with and learned from horses her entire life. As an Equine Coach for the greater Grand Traverse area, she shares her deep passion and commitment to understanding the horse by teaching workshops and coaching horses and humans in their relationships. Melissa is the Natural Horsemanship Instructor for Peace Ranch and a EAGALA Certified Equine Specialist in the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy services. Utilizing her years of experience with horses, she creates a welcoming, inclusive space for horses and humans to learn from one another.

Equine Specialist

Marijane and her husband started Still Point Farm in Empire, MI. In addition to producing a variety of organic products, the farm has raised and trained horses and humans using natural horsemanship techniques for many years. Marijane brings expertise with children and a wealth of knowledge about horse care and training to our team.

Kathryn has served families and children in the Grand Traverse area for over 30 years. As Foster Care Supervisor at Child and Family Services of Northwest Michigan, Kathryn oversees foster care workers and families from all over Michigan.

Jan has served the Grand Traverse community through Munson Hospice and then the Veterans Health Administration. Jan’s expertise broad expertise working with traumatized children and adults in a creative, compassionate, and supportive style makes her an invaluable member of our team.
