Peace Ranch is proud to host our annual Wilderness Run, one of the primary ways we fund therapy for veterans, children, and families across Northern Michigan who have experienced trauma.
At Peace Ranch, we believe no one should be turned away due to financial barriers. With therapy sessions costing up to $175, access to care can be out of reach for many. Events like the Wilderness Run help ensure that healing remains accessible to all.
Last year alone, this event funded nearly 100 therapy sessions, with every dollar going directly to client care. On average, it takes just four runners to fund one session, making every registration and sponsorship truly impactful.
Not every child who comes to Peace Ranch is ready to talk, but in the presence of our animals, something begins to shift. Without pressure, they begin to feel safe, regulated, and connected in ways traditional therapy may not reach. We see this same transformation in veterans; one veteran shared “it was the first time in years their body felt calm.”
Peace Ranch offers a unique, experiential, brain-based approach to healing, where licensed therapists partner with horses to help individuals build safety, connection, and emotional regulation. We are one of the few organizations in Northern Michigan providing this specialized care, and we are committed to making it accessible to all.
