Children & Families
We started Peace Ranch to serve traumatized kids
Our consistent success with high needs clients makes Peace Ranch the first referral choice for many area government, nonprofit, courts, and mental health organizations. The following are agencies that have contracted services for children and families at Peace Ranch:
Veterans: Veterans Health Administration approved Community Care Provider - get a referral from your VA provider
and other child welfare agencies, and area physicians, counselors, teachers, and our faith community.
Peace Ranch employs a team approach for all clinical appointments which includes: A Master’s Level Clinician, an Equine Professional and a Horse. Right from the beginning we realized we were offering a service generally only accessible to the wealthy. Our Mission is to make the “cure” available to all who are “ill”.
About Client Sessions
Length: Sessions are 1 hour
Cost: $200 per hour - See our Fee Schedule for a sliding scale based on income and number of dependents
To make an appointment: Call or text 231-499-4736 or email jan@peaceranchtc.org.
When the client is a child, parental/caregiver involvement and communication are mandatory for service. The child may need help but the family system must have the tools to support what the child is learning for the best possible outcome.
You can Help!
Peace Ranch is often the first referral choice for area child welfare, mental health and government organizations because it is effective.
The cost of Unresolved Trauma is significant. The outlook for adults who have unresolved childhood trauma is poor. They are 3-4 times more likely to experience unemployment, costly medical issues, mental health, substance abuse and incarceration.
Fortunately, we have a solution. But most of our clients and contract agencies cannot cover the cost of services. We rely on grants, donations and fundraisers to provide this critical service.
You Can Help! — $1000 donation provides 8 sessions for a veteran or traumatized child.
Peace Ranch is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Your donation is tax deductible.

Peace Ranch is an outpatient program that does not have an after-hours crisis phone.
This means that staff is not available after hours for emergency calls and there is no after-hours crisis phone service. If this does not feel like sufficient support, we can discuss additional resources or transfer you to a therapist or clinic with 24-hour availability. Generally, phone calls and emails will be returned within 24-48 hours during the business week, with the exception of vacations and holidays.
If you have a mental health emergency, do not wait for a call, but do one or more of the following:
Activate your emergency system (check for your area, this may be 911)
Go to your nearest emergency room
Call the National Suicide Prevention hotline 1.800.273.8255
Call Northern Lakes Community Mental Health 1.833.295.0616
