Find peace on the ranch

Peace Ranch has several classes and events throughout the year, including Herd Meditation, Spring & Fall Farm Days, Natural Horsemanship Classes, and the Peace Ranch 5K/10K Wilderness Run. We hope you can join us on the ranch!

Upcoming Events:

  • What: Join us for a family-friendly Volunteer Day at Peace Ranch, lunch will be provided for all our volunteers.

    Help us with our spring cleaning as we prepare for a very busy season ahead! Projects may include:

    • Getting the chicken coop and mini pens ready for summer

    • Light construction and ranch projects

    • Rock pickup in the pastures 

    • And plenty more ways to lend a hand

    When: May 16, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    Who: Anyone who’s interested in helping out, spending time at the ranch, or learning more about Peace Ranch is welcome!

  • There are stories at Peace Ranch that words alone can’t hold, stories of veterans learning to breathe again, children rediscovering safety, and horses quietly guiding both back to themselves.

    But healing like this doesn’t happen alone. It happens because of community.

    Brushstrokes for Healing is more than a fundraiser, it’s a gathering of people who believe that no one should have to navigate trauma on their own. Every brushstroke added to this mural becomes part of something bigger: a shared commitment to showing up for one another.

    As part of the Peace Ranch Horses for Mental Health campaign, every dollar raised goes directly toward therapy for veterans and children facing PTSD and severe trauma. This isn’t just art on a wall, it’s access to care, to connection, to a place where someone can finally feel safe.

    Join us on May 30th from 11:00–3:00 for this moving and meaningful community event. In partnership with Martina Hahn, Motivational Speed Painer, the experience will lead attendees through painting individual canvas panels. While each piece will reflect one part of the larger picture, the full image will remain a mystery until the event, when all canvases are assembled in real time to reveal a larger mural inspired by the horses and landscape of Peace Ranch. Each participant will also receive a small image of the completed mural as a memento of the day.

    Spend the afternoon with us creating, connecting, and being part of something bigger. Lunch will be available for purchase, and you’ll have the opportunity to take a guided tour of Peace Ranch, meet the animals, and learn more about the critical, life-changing work happening here every day.

    We invite you to stand alongside us. Pick up a brush. Leave your mark. Be part of a community that chooses compassion, healing, and hope, together.

    Because when a community comes together, healing doesn’t just become possible… it becomes powerful.

  • Event Details:

    • Date: June 13, 2026

    • Time: 4pm-7pm

  • The 5K is unlike any other, winding along hard-packed sand roads through the beautiful Pere Marquette Forest. Our 10K has become a favorite among trail runners statewide, known for its challenging topography and peaceful surroundings. Both runs are proudly supported by the Traverse City Track Club.

    Our family-friendly space is perfect for relaxing, cheering, and connecting during and after the race, with a medal ceremony following the finish.

    All registered participants will receive a race t-shirt, official timed results, and post-race refreshments. Plaques will be awarded to the top three male and female runners, and their names will be added to the Annual Race Plaque at Peace Ranch. Every participant will also receive the signature Peace Race Lucky Horseshoe Medal. Ranch tours will be available after the event.

    • Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

    • 10K Run begins at 8:30 a.m.

    • 5K Run begins at 8:45 a.m.

  • What: Join us for a family-friendly Volunteer Day at Peace Ranch!

    Children are welcome to attend with a parent, and lunch will be provided for all our helpers. You’ll get to:

    • Help us clean up after summer

    • Prepare the chicken coop and mini pens for winter

    • Pitch in wherever help is needed—and have fun doing it!

    When: October 17, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    Who: Anyone who would like to lend a hand, connect with our animals, or learn more about Peace Ranch is welcome!
